KindURL is a webapp implemented to create prettified URLs from long URLs that are nicer to distribute than those other tiny URLs. You can email, instant message, or even dictate them. The possibilities are endless. KindURL uses the title of a web page to help provide context. Thus the recipient of a KindURL can get a better idea of what they will be viewing before clicking on the URL.

We provide both short and long versions when we encounter web pages with long titles. Short versions can be used in e-mail without being broken (just like a tiny URL). Long versions provide extra context.

KindURL Bookmarklet

We have updated our bookmarklet. Please delete any old copies of it.

Click and drag the following link to your Bookmarks Toolbar.
Make KindURL
Once this is on your toolbar, you'll be able to make a KindURL at the click of a button. By clicking on the "Make KindURL" toolbar button, a KindURL will be created for the page you are currently viewing.
Note: Javascript must be enabled on the page you are viewing for the bookmarklet to work.
